More Options Than Ever: Living Gluten-Free in 2025
If you had told me thirty years ago that I would be living a fully gluten-free lifestyle—by necessity, not choice—I wouldn’t have believed you. Back then, the idea of gluten-free living felt extreme and unfamiliar. And honestly, my only frame of reference was my grandmother.
She wasn’t blood-related (that’s a story for another day), but she had celiac disease. Her version of a gluten-free diet looked more like survival mode: Diet Coke, baked potatoes, and regular iron infusions. I remember observing her diet with curiosity—it felt so unusual to me at the time, a quiet routine that stood out in a world full of bread baskets and pasta nights. I never imagined I’d one day be living this life myself, let alone guiding my three daughters through it too.
The good news? Things have changed—dramatically.
Today, there are more safe, delicious, and accessible gluten-free options than ever before. Grocery store shelves are stocked with certified GF brands. Restaurants are more aware. School accommodations are improving. We’re still a long way from perfect, but this community has grown into something powerful, vocal, and supported. Today, there are brands I trust and recommend to other families starting this journey—like Jovial or Tinkyáda for pasta, Canyon Bakehouse and Schär for bread, and Primal Kitchen or Rao’s for sauces. These products don’t just make life easier—they make it feel normal again.
I created the Crave Freely Collective to be part of that progress. To help families navigate this lifestyle not with dread, but with joy. Our Kids Club boxes are just the beginning—curated to show little ones that they can still indulge, play, and enjoy without fear. And for us parents? We’re no longer alone, guessing in the dark. We’re building something brighter, together.
Wherever you are on your gluten-free journey, remember: You’re not stuck. You’re not limited. You can still crave freely.
With gratitude,
Tara
